Often, engagement sittings are viewed as an ordeal to be endured so you can have a photograph in the paper. Usually done in a studio, the Bride and Groom are posed in front of a backdrop and told to smile! The result is most often a stiff and old-fashioned looking portrait.

Prestige/Barkley takes a different view on engagement photos. We encourage our couples to go on location for this session, such as a beach or favorite park. A series of images are taken that vary from individual close-ups to loosely structured photonaturalistic poses such as you see in these examples. This time spent with your wedding photographer is invaluable because it allows you get to know each other and discuss your wedding long before the actual day. It also gives you and your fiance the opportunity to view and discuss images taken by one of your own photographers.
